EMR strengthens commitment to the Armed Forces community through Covenant signing

EMR has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Covenant is a national commitment to ensuring that those who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly and are not disadvantaged as a result of their service.
EMR will work closely with Transport UK Group and industry partners to promote opportunities for veterans and service leavers.

EMR unveils newly refurbished Class 360 train.
First train in £30 million programme to modernise the EMR Connect fleet.
Refurbishment will improve customer experience with redesigned interior, including new 2+2 seating.
Other improvements upgraded luggage facilities, power and USB charging points, improved passenger information systems, refreshed interiors and enhanced accessibility features.
First newly refurbished trains will enter service next month.

More than 20,000 journeys have been made through EMR's Pay As You Go trial.
Trial runs between Leicester, Derby and Nottingham.
Using GPS-based technology, the system tracks journeys via mobile and automatically works out the correct fare.

Engineering work will affect services on routes to and from London St Pancras International over the festival weekend.
Customers reminded to pack only what they can comfortably carry and should not attempt to board with wheelie bins full of alcohol or luggage trolleys
Customers returning from the festival will be able to use boot cleaning brushes provided at stations to help remove mud before boarding trains.

Customers who do not book may not be able to board their preferred service.
Queuing systems will be in place at Nottingham and Skegness, however customers with pre-booked tickets will be able to join the fast track queue.

The works will take place over five weeks starting from Monday, 18 May
Walking route from Platform 2 takes five minutes and customers are advised to leave extra time to catch their preferred service
Improvements include car park resurfacing, re-lining of parking spaces, new lighting, CCTV, an expanded cycle shelter and updated signage
