EMR launches Family Saver ticket on Regional and Connect services for October half term, with savings up to 42%

Family Saver ticket available during October half term with savings up to 42% for certain journeys.
Groups of up to two adults and four children can travel together for a single fixed fare on certain Connect and Regional services.
Families heading for a seaside getaway can use the ticket to travel to popular destinations including Skegness and Cleethorpes.
For those looking to escape the British weather altogether, the Family Saver can also help families jet off for a half-term holiday with tickets from St Pancras International to Luton Airport available with a 42% saving.

EMR’s Digital Pay As You Go trial extended for a further 12 months after reaching 27,000 journeys

Pioneering Digital Pay As You Go trial extended by another 12 months
More than 27,000 journeys have been made since its launch
Trial runs between Leicester, Derby and Nottingham.
Using GPS-based technology, the system tracks journeys via mobile and automatically works out the correct fare.

Members of the RMT union will take strike action over the Bank Holiday weekend, affecting services on Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August.
EMR will operate a significantly reduced timetable with trains running from approximately 08:00 and finishing before 19:00.
Customers are advised to only travel if their journey is essential on these dates and to check their full journey, including first and last trains, before travelling.
Customers in Scotland, the North East, and Yorkshire travelling to / from London yet to purchase a ticket and would normally travel to or from London on an LNER service are strongly encouraged to follow LNER's travel advice and book a ticket that uses the Rail Replacement connection.

Members from the RMT union will strike on 15 August.
EMR will operate a significantly reduced timetable starting at 07:00 and finishing before 19:00 on its Intercity and Connect routes.
In addition to strike action, the RMT has also notified EMR that members will be taking Action Short of Strike (ASOS), from Sunday 9 to Friday 14 August (inclusive) and from Sunday 16 August until further notice.
Trains may be subject to short notice alterations and cancellations.
Customers are advised to only travel if their journey is essential and to check their full journey, including first and last trains, before travelling on these dates.

EMR to step up Intercity timetable from 31 August following improved service stability

• EMR to take first step towards restoring its Intercity timetable following a period of improved service stability under the current temporary reduced timetable.
• Intercity services will increase from 87% to 92% of the planned timetable from Monday, 31 August.
• Reinstatement of key services for Sheffield and Nottingham, including eight weekday and four weekend services previously fully cancelled.
• EMR thanks customers for their patience while it continues to work with Hitachi Rail to improve fleet performance and reliability.

High temperatures trigger timetable changes on EMR network on 12 and 13 August

Customers urged to check before you travel on Wednesday 12 August
Essential travel only advice in place on Thursday 13 August
If travel is essential, customers are encouraged to travel before 12:00 noon, to avoid the highest temperatures.
Customers should expect disruption across the network.
To help maintain fleet availability across the network, Regional services between Sheffield and Liverpool will be suspended on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 August
Regional services between Nottingham and Worksop and Nottingham and Leicester will be suspended from 12:00 noon on Thursday 12 August
EMR is working closely with Network Rail to monitor conditions and keep services running safely.
