Cab&Go-2

East Midlands Railway passengers benefit from new taxi service

  • Service allows EMR passengers to order a taxi for their journey to or from the station at the same time as buying a rail ticket
  • Up front quote provided for 24/7 service
  • Convenient and value for money

The new Cab&Go service is available for passengers to pre-book a taxi to or from all East Midlands Railway stations.

Anyone booking tickets on the East Midlands Railway website, can also book a taxi for either the start or end of their journey. An up-front quote is provided, giving passengers peace of mind as there’s no metre running.

The service is designed particularly for those passengers who want the security of knowing that there will be a cab waiting for them, especially at the other end of their rail journey, to safely convey them to their final destination.

Due to Covid-19, EMR is asking passengers to keep their distance from people outside your household whilst at taxi ranks, where possible.

Face coverings are mandatory on all public transport services. Passengers should wear a face covering in an enclosed space where social distancing isn’t possible and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet. Take care to use face coverings properly.

When finishing your journey, we recommend you:

  • follow local guidance
  • wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or sanitise your hands as soon as possible

Passengers will be kept up to date by the Cab&Go support team: just after booking, a confirmation text message is sent including the number for a dedicated 24-hour helpline in case of any issues. Then, shortly before the pick-up time, the customer receives a text with the make, colour and registration number of the taxi, as well as the driver’s phone number and the meeting point.

Cab&Go will be available 24/7, and has been tried and tested for several years in the Netherlands by Abellio’s parent company, Nederlandse Spoorwegen, as well as in Scotland at ScotRail.

Neil Grabham, Customer Services Director for EMR said: “The new Cab&Go service makes it even easier for our passengers to plan journeys by public transport from door-to-door.

“With no cash or meters to worry about, it’s the simplest way to get to and from the station.”
