Network Rail has taken the decision to close the line due to heavy snow forecast during the Amber Weather Warning period.
Customers travelling on other parts of the EMR network are strongly advised to check their journey before setting off, as severe weather may also impact services elsewhere on the network, particularly on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
The latest updates will be available via online journey planners and EMR customer channels.
As a result of the Hope Valley line closure:
- No EMR services will operate between Sheffield and Manchester from 6.00pm on Thursday 8 January and throughout Friday 9 January
