Lift repair work to affect Derby station passengers
- Lift repair work to begin on Tuesday, September 1
- Passengers who require step-free access should use subway
- More staff, signage and free taxis from Pride Park entrance will be in place
Passengers who require step-free access at Derby railway station will need to use the site’s subway from Tuesday as major work is carried out on the lifts.
The project, which is being funded and carried out by Network Rail, will see the lifts at both the main entrance and the Pride Park entrance renewed. It will be done in two phases to make sure they are not out of action at the same time – and reduce the impact on passengers.
The main entrance lifts will be refurbished first, with work running from Tuesday, 1 September until the end of November. The work on the Pride Park entrance lifts will follow, from Monday, 4 January to the beginning of April. Lifts will be unavailable while work is carried out.
Signs will be up around the station directing passengers while the work takes place and more staff will be on hand to provide advice. There will also be free taxis to take people to the main entrance from the Pride Park side of the station.
All passengers are advised to leave extra time to make journeys and to check EMR’s website for updates.
