A micro pub, speciality retail or convenience store: EMR is seeking tenants for retail units in exciting multi-million Skegness station redevelopment
- EMR seeking tenants for new retail space in exciting multi-million station revamp
- Space could suit many different businesses
- Retail units will benefit from high footfall with more than 230,000 rail journeys being made to the Skegness station last year
East Midlands Railway (EMR) is seeking tenants for a new retail space at Skegness station as part of an exciting £3.3 million development.
The new retail units, which are being created using the Government Town Deal Fund, are being formed thanks to the reconfiguration of the station.
The units will be created by bringing the redundant Red Star building back into use and allowing the proposed layout to be split into three units - but options remain to have one large unit or two spaces if required.
A number of uses would fit perfectly into the space - such as a newsagent, speciality retail, a left luggage shop or micro pub. With more than 230,000 customer journeys made to Skegness by train last year, EMR is confident the retail spaces will prove to be popular.
When the whole station development is completed, customers can expect a number of enhanced facilities at the station, including a standard accessible toilet and a changing places toilet, two new start-up offices, and a community café with a meeting room.
There will be improved access routes into the station for both pedestrians and vehicles, offering integration with the surrounding community.
Simon Pready, Commercial Director at East Midlands Railway, said: "Whether it's a newsagent, a convenience store, or a lively bar, the canvas is yours to paint, and with more than 230,000 rail passenger journeys to the town last year, you won't be short of customers.
"If you have an idea and are interested in renting one of these units, please get in touch."
EMR is urging interested parties to contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org."
