East Midlands Railway (EMR) is urging customers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys this weekend as Network Rail carries out major improvement works between Nottingham and Leicester, closing all lines.
The work forms part of a near £1 million investment to renew 830 metres of track at Mountsorrel, north of Leicester, helping to deliver smoother and more reliable journeys for customers in the future.
To allow this work to take place safely, the railway will be closed between Leicester and East Midlands Parkway throughout the weekend.
